In early 2026, I took part in a groundbreaking scientific and creative journey to the Southern Ocean and Antarctica.
"I dived into icy depths and photographed the powerful stories of women leading the way in ocean research, conservation, and exploration - alongside the amazing environment we strive to understand and protect."
As an underwater and wildlife photographer, I journeyed through the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, Elephant Island, and the Western Antarctic Peninsula, all the way to the Polar Circle. Our team of international women conducted ocean research and created science-informed storytelling in one of the most extreme environments on Earth.
My role was to capture the stories above and below the surface during our epic 24-day voyage, including:
- Stunning underwater imagery of fragile and changing Southern Ocean and Antarctic ecosystems
- Visual documentation of scientific work above and below the ice
- Media content that amplifies the voices of women scientists
- Outreach materials to inspire action on climate and ocean conservation
My visuals have been shared through social media, exhibitions, school talks, and community outreach programs.
